About Maria Isabel
Maria Isabel shot to fame in September 2004 after winning the spanish Junior Eurovision national selection competition 'Eurojunior', with her song 'Antes Muerta Que Sencilla' (I'd rather be dead than plain), at the tender age of 9 years old. In November, she competed in the second ever Junior Eurovision Contest in Lillehammer, Norway, and won with the record number of 171 points, with 8 countries giving the maximum number of points. Shortly after her Junior Eurovision success, she released her first album, 'No Me Toques Las Palmas Que Me Conozco', which sold over 400000 copies in Spain alone. She travelled the world promoting her album, visiting America, South America, Japan, and countries all over Europe. Following the success of her first album, Maria launched her second album in October 2005, Numero 2, which became platinum. In November, she performed at the Junior Eurovison Song Contest 2005, performing Antes Muerta Que Sencilla and the hit song from Numero 2, 'Pues Va A Ser Que No' (The answer is no). After an extremely successful tour in the summer of 2006, performing in towns and cities all over Spain, Maria Isabel released her third CD, Capricornio (named after her star sign), which has become a platinum disc. Her latest project, her first ever movie, 'Angeles SA', was released in cinemas on 21st December 2007 and on DVD (available in a normal and a special edition) on 9th July 2008. She launched an accompanying album, also called Angeles SA, which includes 9 tracks (6 of which feature in the movie) and 3 karaokes. Maria Isabel truely is a star, unique in the style she sings and dances - Maria Isabel, Antes Muerta Que Sencilla!
